- Ted Pedro, PresidentMr. Theodore M. Pedro is currently the Executive Director for the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of New Mexico and Project Director for the New Mexico Native American Business Enterprise Center. Mr. Pedro is from the Pueblo of Laguna, Village of Paraje and brings a bachelor’s degree in business management and a wealth of experience in economic, business and community development. He has worked with Indian communities, federal, state, public and local agencies for over 30 years. Mr. Pedro has had the honor of serving on boards and committees for Laguna Community Foundation, Laguna Industries, Inc. Cochiti Community Development Corporation, Jemez Community Development Corporation, TIWA Lending Services, Statewide SBDC Advisory Committee, Statewide PATP Advisory Committee and the Jicarilla Apache Nation Economic Commission. In addition, he has been on the Small Business Administration Albuquerque Advisory Council, Laguna Investment Committee, New Mexico Indian Economic Development Committee, Advisory Committee of the Albuquerque Capital Development Program, New Mexico Marketing team and the New Mexico Community Economic Development Institute.
- Ronald Solimon, Secretary
Ron is the former Director of the Center for Lifelong Education (“CLE”) at the Institute of American Indian Arts (“IAIA”)in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He retired from this position in June of 2015. Prior to joining the President’s Cabinet at the Institute of American Indian Arts, Ron served as the Executive Director of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Inc., and President & CEO of Indian Pueblos Marketing, Inc., a for-profit corporation and Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Inc., a not for profit corporation. Ron is a member of the Pueblo of Laguna. His paternal bloodlines also go to the Pueblo of Zuni. He received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from New Mexico State University, College of Business, and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of New Mexico, School of Law. Ron currently serves on several boards, including the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development, Inc., Native American Professional Parent Resources, Inc., Haverland Carter Lifestyle Group, Inc., and Laguna Community Foundation, Inc. He has also served on the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian Board of Trustees, Albuquerque Community Foundation, UNM Health Science Center, and Laguna Development Corporation Board of Directors. At the national and state levels Ron also served on the U.S Travel Association Board of Directors and the Tourism Association of New Mexico (now known as the “New Mexico Hospitality Association”) Board of Directors. Ron was elected to the New Mexico Tourism Hall of Fame in 2013.
Ron has received many awards and accolades for his service in the several industry sectors in which he has worked. Ron and his wife Elaine live in Albuquerque. They have two adult children, two grandsons, and two granddaughters.
- Skip Sayre, Board MemberSkip Sayre has over twenty-five years of senior executive management experience in the casino, resort and entertainment industries. He is currently the Chief of Sales and Marketing for Laguna Development Corporation, a tribally-owned company based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has been a resident of New Mexico since 2007.
Previous experience includes positions as Vice President of Marketing at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe, Harvey’s Lake Tahoe, the Las Vegas Hilton and the Rio Las Vegas. He also served as the Executive Director of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority and the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Authority. He grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He has served on the Board of Directors of several non-profit organizations including Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care and the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. He is currently on the board of the Southwest Association for Indian Arts, the Santa Fe Indian Market.
- John Ulrich, Board Member
John is the primary shareholder and President of Ulrich Consulting Group, LLC (UCG), a SEC Registered Investment Advisor based in Albuquerque New Mexico. UCG’s mission is to provide quality and sound investment advisory services to middle market institutional investment fiduciaries and affluent family wealth to support their efforts in addressing and managing their important financial planning and investment decisions.
John Ulrich began his career in the investment business in 1984. Throughout his career, John has gained extensive experience in a wide range of investment disciplines. He has served a wide variety of clientele including most types of public and private foundations and endowments, employee benefit plans, including Multi-Employer Benefit Plans, as well as other ERISA-covered Plans. He has also worked with Public Fund Clients in addition to Native American Tribes and their tribally owned and sponsored entities, educational institutions and high net worth individuals. John earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from California State University Hayward.
John is very active in the foundation and endowment community as a volunteer board member. He currently serves on the Board of New Mexico Health Connections New Mexico Health Connections is New Mexico’s new non-profit consumer operated and oriented health plan which was created as a result of the Affordable Care Act. John is also involved with ACCION New Mexico where he serves on the New Mexico Impact Committee helping to develop the long-term funding strategy for sustaining the organization. He also serves on the Board of Laguna Construction Company a position that he was appointed to by the Laguna Pueblo Tribal Council to help wind down the operation. He has served as a Public Member of the New Mexico Public Accountancy Board and was a past board member and Chair of the New Mexico Community Foundation as well as a member of the Endowment Board of the Albuquerque Academy. He is also a past Board member and chairman of the Laguna Rainbow Corporation, a nonprofit Native American corporation that operates a 58-bed nursing home at Laguna Pueblo.
